Well, although it MAY be for security and probably will help with security, it might be something more complex as you say. All I know is I sure goddamn hope I have TPM because those modules have gone up in price like GPU's

Unfortunately the 2016 one does the same, no idea why.

Do you have any CD's / DVDs you can write to? I have a SP3 .iso taken from a legit winxp disk if you want it.

Installing from .iso / usb rarely works on xp unless youre using a VM.

Might get on better with a Radeon GPU because it has open source drivers that will run on pretty much anything

That's cool and all, but can you access the forum from MSDOS Works from a 3.x build, don't remember which exactly. Probably needs some old Opera or third party browser, old old Netscape probably couldn't render the site, though it might fare better with the useless forum. Interesting. Bet you can't...
