Services tweaking guide for Windows 7
I have finally gotten around to making this, it's only been however many years I've been mentioning making a post like this. This post will go over services included in Windows 7 that you can disable for more performance and security. This list is based off of the upcoming Windows 7 Updated v5. (Lin...

The design is meant to be similar to how the caption bar worked on 115 ESR. The title bar is forced black stock because it's forced black or white on 10+. 8.x was the caption bar color with 115. That's what I'm going for.

I'm not leaving behind users of 8.x, it's the same as Firefox 115 on 8, you get your colors in the caption bar. I only tweaked text and icons to be black so they're visible when the window is inactive. Also in fact it better supports 8 as Glass8 users get the same experience as those on 7 with Aero ...

So it would be way too complex for a thing I dislike. You can accomplish something similar by just installing a lightweight theme with similar colors or making your own.

However, and since you are able to tweak the title bar, as a Windows 8.1 user if only we could have the option for a black title bar when using the dark mode like it was in R3dfox 122 and like it is in regular Firefox and in LibreWolf  Could probably do it, I'll give it a shot for next releas...

Windows 8 and 8.1 left aligned caption text
I've had these files sitting on my desktop for a while, and I've finally gone through them. These replace the uDWM.dll with one that makes the caption text left aligned. 8.0 left aligned caption text.7z includes two uDWM.dlls. I'm not sure what the difference is as they seem functionally the same wi...

I completely disabled DRM since people mentioned it not working, and I don't like closed source Google code running in the browser.

Dolphin 5.0-19266+ on Windows 7
Newer VxKex has a bug where 18498 now crashes on exit and doesn't seem to save settings. I will only look further if this gets fixed. If you use like 0.0.0.3 or whatever the last pre 1.x release was, 19368 should work. Not sure about 19870+, nor am I really willing to test.

I had to install VxKex to do some testing for something else, so I guess I could do this now. Not sure when I will get to it though.

Modded Nvidia 472.12 drivers with RTX 3000 series on 8 patch and more supported hardware
This is a modded version of the Nvidia 472.12 drivers with more hardware support including Quadro cards, and the 3000 series cards 8 patch. Support information was taken from multiple infs, 474.44, 474.44 Quadro, 472.12 10, and the last pre-4000 series 10 driver. Laptop infs were not touched. Premad...

Maybe it fits some heuristic characteristics of malware, but it should be fine. If you're really worried, you can just analyze the code and compile it yourself.

This was a massive pain to track down. It was the definition of a color being changed. I had to track down and compare versions to see what differences there were.

The idea behind having that disabled is to have native like elements like the scroll bar, check boxes. etc.

Fixed file uploading!
Note to me in case I move server again. Increase post_max_size and upload_max_file in php.ini, and client_max_body_size in nginx.conf. Also make sure permissions are properly set.- 16 Apr 2024, 14:41

Do you know you can attach images directly to the posts and then place and inline insert ? ;) Yes, but I kept getting a nondescript "HTTP error" trying to upload the image, and I'm not sure how to begin diagnosing that. It's just a basic "RamMap requires Windows Vista or higher"...

Anyway, I remember about SysInternals RAMMap: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/ff700229 This latest version requires Vista or better but maybe older versions can run on XP, I don't remember. I join two older versions to this post so you can check. https://board.eclipse.cx/viewtopic....

I'm using All CPU Meter gadget on my Windows 7 VM I have gadgets disabled because they're a security risk. I'm also running 8.1 currently. I know it can be hacked onto 8/10, but not XP. Firewall program for manually allowing or blocking program network access
In the past I've used Kerio Firewall on XP, the best firewall I've ever had. Nowadays I'm afraid it will be quite hard to find something that is still running on XP :? I currently use Comodo Firewall 8.4.0.5165. I was going to upgrade to 12.0.0.6818 (last to work on XP), however after using it in a...

I remember something being wrong with My Computer folders and WinAero Tweaker. I've decided to split some ideas from the contributing post into their own topic, so I can better explain them in a single contained post. This is the Aero Snap replacement. I would really appreciate it if a program like this was made. It would improve the usability of older/newer Windows versions a...
