Re: Windows XP Professional x64 SP2 VL 2019 Slipstream

I'm glad you show XP x64 some love. Not many people do. Will probably get it running soon as a main OS, since most of my computering is web browsing and retro emulation. Shame MS never backported the TLS patches for WS2003, but did for POSReady 2009 which was probably used in less places legitimate...

Re: What Windows 8 should have been

I wish the taskbar was frosted glass like the window borders, but nobody seems to have made a theme like that.

Re: The board now has a legacy theme for better compatiblity with older browsers!

Honestly don't mind the barebones quality of the Legacy style. I also noticed you explicitly overwrote the CSS with the 'subSilver' style from phpBB2 adapted for its theme, which I appreciate massively, brings back some nostalgia of reading forums all those years ago running phpBB2 and vBulletin 3....

And why...? Merely so in case you're really that paranoid, you're not sending the password over HTTP. Wonder if it would actually work.
Well, I don't know where it's stored, if it could be read in older/newer browsers, or if it can even be transplanted.

Fair enough, that seems like the way to go for XP x64. Are there any known issues if anyone has tried it?
Don't know, haven't really looked into it.

The board now has a legacy theme for better compatiblity with older browsers!

Image of the theme . This improves compatibility when used with Retrozilla, and likely older versions of Internet Explorer, Opera, Netscape Navigator, and more, but you'll lose some features. Features known to be broken: 24 Hour Activity Stats. (The 24 hour stats near the bottom of the board index....

Re: Wanting to see how Firefox 3.6.28 works

So, the forum extensions are so dependent on prosilver that the legacy theme breaks them. So we'd lose Markdown, and likely First post on every page, Linked Accounts, Max-width switch, Member Avatars on Index, and more. We wouldn't actually lose them, they'd just be unavailable for use under the le...

Which ones?
It appears that only the color picker and delete cookies icons are broken, only question marks. I can even use the admin control panel with Retrozilla.

Forum should fully work with HTTP now, but I think that doing this is a mistake.

Re: Wanting to see how Firefox 3.6.28 works

I managed to verify that IE6 "works" with the forum, as long as you replace https with http, since IE6 doesn't like many modern SSL certificates. The site looks broken, but it's mostly usable. kisses you Welcome! I wonder if R3n is willing to implement the Legacy theme, may be useful for ...

Re: Netbooks

I have a old netbook, now running a copy of 8.1 that was on an old SSD. It's decent, put New Moon 27 on there, and will likely use it if I need to take apart phones or anything I need desk space and guides for.

Re: Wanting to see how Firefox 3.6.28 works

By intentionally typing exactly: http://forum.eclipse.cx - using the main domain will always redirect to HTTPS version. Certain things like the board banner also always redirect to the HTTPS link, so don't click those either. I think I will try to get HTTP fully working. I managed to verify that IE...

Profile picture requirements.

You might have noticed that the profile picture selector allows for a maximum of 130x130 images. This is not the complete truth, 130x130 images are allowed because it allows users to use 100x100 profile pictures with the Windows Aero border. For normal profile pictures, the limit is 100x100. To use ...

Re: Wanting to see how Firefox 3.6.28 works

It doesnt look as "aero-ish" as it is in a modern browser (I almost prefer it that way), and the color selector tool for the site theme doesn't work, but thats par for the course when you use IE8 for stuff. Purple is my favorite color, anyway. Used a VM to test with IE 8, and I have to ag...

State of web browser compatiblity

The site requires TLS 1.2 and modern certs for HTTPS, however it is available over HTTP so it's a bit moot. If the website is somewhat broken with the default aero theme, try switching to the legacy theme, either using the user control panel, or by visiting this link: https://forum.eclipse.cx/index....
