Intel i7-3770 and windows 7?
I'm working on saving up the money to make a windows 7 gaming computer and I was wondering if this cpu would be powerful enough to run it and if it would be compatible with windows 7 I don't want to end up making a good computer to find out a part won't work so my question is will it work? if anyone could help with this it would be much appreciated (also this is my first custom built pc ive ever tried to make)-VistaLover

windows 7 x64 on a i7-3770k?
Yes, the 3770K is a perfect CPU. It works on everything from 2000 to 11, it's the best consumer chip that had official Vista support and works perfectly under Vista and 7. I would suggest getting a good P67/Z68 board, as early Intel USB 3 with the 7x series of boards is terrible, mostly because of the HCSwitch driver buggery.
Also if you have a bit more money, you could get an E5-1680 v2 and a good X79 board, and have same architecture but more powerful.
