Remember around the Early 2010's when OEM would ship low-spec small-scale laptops with Windows XP Home Edition?

I have one that originally came with Windows 7 Starter, it was extremely slow. Lubuntu worked a bit better on it though. I think I installed XP on it for fun, but never ended up using it.

From 2011(ish?) until feb or mar 2015 we had a HP Mini netbook as the main PC. It ran windows 7 Home Premium, had an Intel Atom and Nvidia ion graphics. It wasnt fast by any means, but it ran just fine. I think the retail price on that was a bit north of USD $300. During that timeframe, the 3G Cellular data on that thing was THE way we got on the 'net at home.

I remember these from back in the 2000s, you guys are young huh? :P

I had the Atom N270-based, XP Home SP3 Acer Aspire ZG5. Funny enough my boyfriend acquired one of those pretty recently, and in the same colour too (the dark blue). Lots of good memories, and they're small enough to use as emulation devices from PS1 and below if you're not looking to run anything 'accurate'.

Used to also have a Compaq Mini CQ10-101SA which I once got Windows ME to run on bare metal for a couple days. Didn't have any Wi-Fi drivers for the AR5B95 chip inside it though, so yeah, but I remember I'd use it at school because I was an awkward sod. Hell I remember playing GT2 (the PAL version of course) in science at the end of the lesson because there was nothing to do at the end of the lesson once.

I got my netbook from a friend two years back, it was a HP 1199DX, it came with Windows 7 Starter but i replaced it with Windows XP Professional. The hardware is so low spec, it could barely play Half Life 2.

I have a old netbook, now running a copy of 8.1 that was on an old SSD. It's decent, put New Moon 27 on there, and will likely use it if I need to take apart phones or anything I need desk space and guides for.

I kind of wonder how netbooks would have gone had they not gone down the Windows path - I remember they originally had Linux on them before Windows XP was available, then somewhat quickly phased out for Windows 7 Starter which runs terribly in comparison to XP on an N270... seriously, you're looking at a processor equivalent to a 2001 Pentium 3 albeit with SSE2 support... Vista/7 wasn't designed for hardware before 2006, so yeah.
