Info, please read.

So, I (finally) decided to fix the Windows 7 ISO(s) by asdf2345, I've dubbed this Remake v3 (June 8th, 2021).
I based this upon Remake v1 and added the USB 3 drivers to both Home Premium and Ultimate, integrated all the missing updates, but kept all features enabled to fix the issues it caused in Remake v2. Professional always had the USB 3 drivers, however, it still benefits from the missing updates being included.
There are no missing updates, unless you want the ones that potentially have telemetry. You can grab the zip from the previous thread if you really want them.
Because of a few updates, Windows may take a while to finalize settings.
I would like to do more relating to Windows, but I need storage to host these files. If you are able to, please sign up using my Mediafire referral link to give me extra storage. Each person that signs up using the link gives me an extra 1 GB of storage space, up to an extra 39GB.

The files.

Windows 7 ISO (Updated to 2020-01)
Windows 7 ISO (Updated to 2016-09) Like in the previous post, you should only use if you know what you're doing, or if the above ISO gives you any issues.

If the above links are broken, I've mirrored the two on Mediafire as well.
Windows 7 ISO (Updated to 2020-01)
Windows 7 ISO (Updated to 2016-09)

I've attached the SHA 256 hashes of each file mentioned here, so if you want to, you can verify the files after downloading them.

Most of the text below was copy and pasted from the previous thread, as it would be inconvenient for you to have to switch between two different threads for the full picture.

Q&A

Q: Why does the setup have the Windows 8 bootscreen?

A: The installer is from Windows Server 2012 R2, it was used because using an install.esd makes the ISO significantly smaller. It also makes integrating NVMe and USB 3.0 drivers significantly easier.

Q: Windows is stuck at finalizing your settings, why?

A: .Net 4.8 updates are in .exe form, because Microsoft hates us I guess. As far as I know, they need to be installed post-setup, which is why Windows may seem stuck here. It may take a few minutes to reach the desktop if your system is slower.

Q: I just checked Windows update, and it's missing plenty of updates, why?

A: That's because those updates include telemetry, all the updates that begin with a date on Windows update are guaranteed to have telemetry, excluding IE updates. The rest of the KB updates that aren't in the ISO are likely telemetry as well.

Q: Is the 2016-09 ISO only updated to 2016-09?

A: Yes, and no, it includes .NET 4.8, VC++, .Net 3.5 and 4.8 updates to 2020-01, etc, but Windows itself has no updates after 2016-09 except for the SHA-2 update, and the SHA-2 servicing stack update.

Q: I want to update to 2017-08 or 2017-12.

A: Not a question, but sure. If you want Windows 7 updated to 2017-08, just grab the 2016-09 ISO, and download the 2016-10 to 2017-08 updates. It's only 10 updates that you'll need to install. If you want to update to 2017-12, grab this as well, which adds another 4 updates.
I've also mirrored the files on Mediafire too, the 2016-10 to 2017-08 updates and the 2017-09 to 2017-12 updates.

Privacy tweaks.

Open Task Scheduler, navigate to Task Scheduler Library > Microsoft > Windows and delete the items below.
Everything under Application Experience, Autochk, and Customer Experience Improvement Program.
Under Disk Diagnostic, only delete Microsoft-Windows-DiskDiagnosticDataCollector.
Delete everything under Maintenance, WinSAT, and Media Center.

How I made the ISO, and the files you need to replicate it.

For this part, I'm redirecting you to the old post.
Other than that, how I made the ISO was just like Remake v2, but I added the .Net 4.8 updates to the post-setup option with the /q and /norestart parameters, and I didn't disable any default features.

Legal. (Please don't sue.)

This ISO is provided without a license key or any activation, meaning it is not an illegal source of Windows. The users must have their own license key to activate Windows.
The updates and integrated .Net 4.8, IE11, Visual C++, and more belong to Microsoft and the developers there that created them.
Windows is a registered trademark of Microsoft Corporation.
Please don't sue me.

And can this ISO be booted from Legacy mode that way?

(sorry if i sound stupid but, believe it or not, im still new to UEFI  )

MBR best, but GPT works too.

Rufus works fine for doing UEFI or BIOS. If the ISO has both UEFI and BIOS support (does it?) you can have both.
An alternative option I've used is the PowerISO create USB option which plays well with Vista+.

It should, but I haven't explicitly tested it yet.

The 2020 ISO crashes before I can even get to anything, it doesnt last long enough to grab the error either.

Unfortunately the 2016 one does the same, no idea why.

They both have a Win10 like loading experience too, but I'm pretty sure that's for a reason posted above in the main post with the ISO links.

You might like 7 with the classic theme.

Aero should work fine though, even on the old system.

Microsoft released an out of band security update.
I haven't checked if the update has any telemetry or not so be careful.

Unfortunately don't have enough resources to keep a machine up for torrents, so you might want to start your way up from a barebones iso if that's the case, here: https://archive.org/download/win-7-pro-32-64-iso/win-7-pro-32-64-iso_archive.torrent
if i recall, the above's iso follows this guide on updates: https://awau.moe/1SbmJBB.txt
The catalog link above nearly has all the updates you need as of now, good luck.

doesn't work, either on them. they both try to boot into windows but after 2 seconds it crashes into the screen with safe mode and others and it doesn't matter which you pick, none of them will boot. i was looking for a custom windows 7 to install on my hp omen laptop that came with windows 10. it has a 10th gen i7 and rtx 2080 in it. i tried using a regular iso before but that just straight up told me it was unsupported, a few weeks later i found this and this actually looked like it was gonna work because IT WANT'S TO BOOT but it's just not happening. i changed my boot order accordingly and turned secure boot OFF because otherwise my bios would come to me with an error. so i don't know what to do, maybe go back to windows 10? try windows 8.1 since it looks exactly like 7 minus the metro shit (which you can disable)

maybe ill try a custom 8.1 iso and disable the metro ui

Hi!

I just stumbled across this thread. I want to thank you for creating this updated ISO. I was looking everywhere for an ISO with all updates for W7 up to EOL.

Does this also have the SSUs for Windows Update to smoothly install all ESUs? Because I have had issues installing Windows 7 and installing ESUs through WU due to the SSU updates that are not applied beforehand.

Thanks!

Nothing after 2020-01. I'm not interested in ESU due to them including telemetry, even if you only use the security only updates.
