I was browsing youtube, when i saw this video about an interesting new and elegant fix for Windows Update on Windows 2000 and XP.
This new software is called "Legacy Update fix" and is an alternate Windows Update server with an web page interface recreated from the original Windows Update website, which makes updating Windows more old school like.
I thought you people may find it interesting so i share this here.

Id rather spend 1 hour installing all updates manually so i can uninstall single updates manually later, if i see it causes a problem for me.
With SP4 you cant do that.

New Windows Update fix!!!
legacy update seems to be what caused my laptop to hog svchost.exe at every boot.
wouldn't recommend.
is there not another fix? seems like the 'other' method that was sponsored by 'hostile entities' (i.e. i430VX) is gone, though I last had a look about 6 months ago
