Minecraft on HD 4000 (and 4600(?)) under Windows XP

I'm going to be more straight to the point here since I know more about the issue. Rendering menus(?) causes Minecraft's performance to just die with the HD 4000. I've tried it on both my T430, and a 3770K desktop, and both have this issue. I'm not quite sure what version of graphics driver I used (maybe 145111 or 6.14.10.5437?), and I already formatted the drive, so I'll have to do more testing later.

Here's a video from the desktop showing what happens in game.

Here's the FPS fluctuating in menus.

Onto the HD 4600, I wanted to test this to see what it would do in MC, but I discovered a bigger issue. The laptop I used to test the HD 4600 is the Dell Precision M4800, and it doesn't seem to like XP. If I install the HD 4600 drivers under XP, it automatically disables switchable graphics upon reboot. If I reenable the setting and reboot, this happens.

I'm not entirely sure why or how it does this, but if I shut down, and power back on, the setting is automatically disabled again, but the screen retains the image and flickers (flickering not shown in video). It does go away after a while, but I don't want to damage the screen, at least until I get a screen upgrade

I'll probably do some testing with different drivers later, play around with versions, see if anything changes. Not sure what to do about the HD 4600. My NAS does have a HD 4600, but I'm lazy and don't want to mess up anything.

So I tried these driver versions, and saw no difference in performance, same issue.
