This is useful with headphones with games that use 3D positional audio to distinguish the direction where the sound is coming from, eg. when it comes from behind or above/below you. Though from what I read, the latter need elevation filter enabled.

CMSS also works somewhat with other multi-channel audio sources.]]>

I'm going to purchase new headphones as soon as I have the money so I can enjoy youtube better on XP (which isn't all that great to begin with) From what I'm reading I should be able to get Plantronics for under $50 which is promising but I also see upwards of $200 which is beyond my budget. .]]>

It'd be cool if there were more tinkerers, some areas that extensions tackle aren't covered as well as when Firefox was still popular and didn't use web extensions.

Firefox is also impossible to compile form source on older humbler machines as the requirements are just nuts. I could have Ablaze Floorp at home as backup, that's closer out-of-the box to my liking, but doesn't work on CPUs without SSE 4.1 and no one is interested in compiling build without that requirement. Though font rendering is still bothersome...it ignores ClearType parameters in Windows.]]>

Hi, UCyborg; unfortunately even Thorium is too slow on my systems even when I tried to rebase it - but thank you for the suggestion. I'm sort of just hanging on to these old computers until they no longer work because they are both very old :)

EDIT: Ok, I've managed to rebase Thorium to my needs and it now only takes 15 seconds to start up compare to almost 40 seconds as is out of the box. I'll keep it around if I need it but rarely do I need Chromium given the 3 browsers I use.

2nd EDIT: Does anybody by any chance know how to get rid of the ugly green and blue icons on Thorium? I'd like the whole thing to be gray if possible. Thank you in advance.

Win10 *CAN* be made bloat-free!
It's just that today's "userbase" doesn't feel like they should spend the time.
It definitely gets harder and harder with each new release of Win10 and then Win11 on top of that.
I personally use a *2016* version of Win10.

The "userbase" just forgets (over, and over, and over again), then forgets again (over, and over, and over again) that it took them TWENTY YEARS to get XP to "where they like it". Okay, maybe not twenty years. But it took a LONG TIME to get XP to where we think of XP. We (the userbase) kept tinkering and tinkering and tinkering until all of us were "happy" with XP.

How many people running XP don't at least run XP-AntiSpy?

But to be honest, while some of us do tinker and tweak, I personally feel that most of us just like to biatch and whine and complain.
ie, complain about telemetry and privacy rights when it comes to Microsoft, but turn a blind eye to their social media platforms violating every privacy right in every country but hide behind legal loopholes on all of the "data" they collect.]]>

When it comes to Windows 11, I'm more curious what they were changing in its DirectMusic implementation after all these years. It broke some music playback in Drakan: Order of the Flame, something about the (mis)handling of empty RIFF chunks.

And what happened to implementation of Win9x heap manager that functioned well since WinXP days (living as compatibility shim EmulateHeap for buggy apps with certain kind of memory management bugs).

If I center window on one screen, send it to other screen, why window manager no longer sets its relative position like it was on previous screen? Intentional or not?

What about old builds of Half-Life cause DWM to constantly hog one CPU core?

I also found an odd temporary way to prevent screen off and eventually sleep to kick. Set taskbar to auto hide, click the desktop. Desktop is set to now show icons and background changes periodically. Though this is on Win11 23H2 with ExplorerPatcher etc.

I imagine with all possible combinations of hardware and 3rd party software, actually supporting Windows must be a nightmare.]]>

Recently, I've been trying to get the Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail) of my old laptop to work in Windows Vista. The laptop in question is a Lenovo IdeaPad 100-15IBY 80MJ with Intel Celeron N2840 and, of course, Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail). Even though this laptop may not be a very time-accurate machine for Windows Vista, as it was intended for Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 and doesn't officially support Windows Vista, given how low-end and relatively old it is, I was still hoping to turn it into a Vista-capable little power-efficient machine for lighter gaming. I was able to get Windows Vista to install just fine, using the Windows Vista for Surface Pro 1 ISO available at the Internet Archive (essentially a modded Windows 10 ISO with Windows Vista install.wim). Original Windows Vista ISOs wouldn't work as they gave me the 0x80070070 error as soon as the Copying files step ends during installation, regardless of whether I used a bootable USB or copied the installation files to a separate partition on my SATA SSD or SATA HDD.

I didn't run into any of the bugs that are encountered in newer Haswell and later Intel CPUs, and I was able to find and install drivers for the touchpad and Ethernet just fine, and even one for the WIFI card with a little .inf file tweak. However, one very essential driver that I couldn't get to work at all, even using NTOSKRNL Emu_Extender, is the Intel HD Graphics driver. Despite supposedly compiling ntoskrn8.sys for Windows Vista with no errors, configuring the .inf file and modifying the .sys files of the Display Audio and Graphics driver with CFF Explorer for them to "use" the ntoskrn8.sys and "install" on Windows Vista, I still couldn't get a functional graphics driver on Windows Vista. Paradoxically, the user Aerostaitk was reportedly able to get the 15.33.35.64/10.18.10.4176 driver to work on his Lenovo IdeaPad 100-15IBY. The difference is that his laptop has a Pentium N3540 instead of Celeron N2840, but both CPUs are Bay Trail, so it doesn't matter (I think). Sadly, I've tried both the latest 10.18.10.5161 and the 10.18.10.4176, but everytime I tried to install them with the aforementioned steps using the Device Manager's Update device function, I was greeted with the Code 39 error. What would usually happen is that the driver will "successfully install" at first, but after restarting the OS, I would be greeted with the Code 39 problem. Disabling the Driver Signature Enforcement also didn't help.

Drivers that use the old control panel, including the one available at the Windows Vista Extended Kernel website, don't work with Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail) in any form, even in newer Windows versions, despite the fact that the Bay Trail iGPU is based on the Ivy Bridge architecture.

I'll also point out that I cannot install Windows 7 DDK v7.1.0 via Windows Vista, so can only compile the ntoskrn8.sys file in Windows 7 and later. Oh, and CFF Explorer would only detect the ntoskrn8.sys file if it's placed in the Windows/System32 folder unlike NTOSKRNL Emu_Extender's suggestion of placing it in the Drivers folder.

Finally, I'm posting some images down below that showcase my attempt at installing a driver for Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail) on Windows Vista, so that you can let me know if I'm doing something wrong, and if that's the case, I'm willing to see your suggestions. Cheers! :ugeek:]]>

It appears that we have the same machine, only difference is the CPU which is still BayTrail. Unfortunately I lost interest in getting these drivers to work. To get DX9 support working it would need further modifications at the kernel mode and user mode driver which I don't have the experience for (and anyone who does probably doesn't care). These IGPUs aren't actually Ivy Bridge, they're a modified version of those IGPUs, that's why the old control panel driver doesn't install. You can enjoy DX11 though.]]>

In the meantime, I ended up removing my Windows Vista partition, as I'm primarily using Windows 7 on my Lenovo IdeaPad 100-15IBY right now and I pretty much gave up on getting a graphics driver to work in Vista. But if anyone has a suggestion on how to get a driver to work or could provide a modded driver, feel free to reply, I guess... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯]]>

Lacking a Firefox (I still have Chrome, but it's not my primary.) reinstalled my old 132.( I keep a copy in my computer.)

Now I've lost my entire profile---customizations, extensions, settings, bookmarks, the whole shebang. I managed to find Bitwarden extension and reinstall it.

How do I get my profile back? Or rather, how do I "tell" the browser where the profile is?]]>

I guess it's MSVCP140.dll. You need to download the VC++_UCRT_DLLs.7z archive:
https://github.com/Eclipse-Community/r3dfox/releases/download/v137.0.2-hotfix/VC++_UCRT_DLLs.7z
and to extract the correct version of the DLLs to the main folder of R3dfox where R3dfox.exe is.

If it still doesn't work then you may need to install the redistributable Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022 runtime:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170

There is an issue about that:
https://github.com/Eclipse-Community/r3dfox/issues/291

Your profile should be in this folder: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\EclipseCommunity\r3dfox
Where <username> is...your user name :)

You can tell the browser where your profile is by running it with the -p switch:
r3dfox.exe -p "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\EclipseCommunity\r3dfox"]]>

It's not fixed in v139.0.4rc. OK, technically speaking it's not a release so take this as a reminder ;)

That said, I like the new purple theme :thumbup:
But maybe the dark background is just a little bit too black because it's making some black icons in the drop down list of the bookmarks hard to see (Dark theme + Dark mode + Windows 10 Modern + Eclipse Purple).]]>

Now that you say that, I notice I missed the tab line color. Which will be fixed next release, but what colors are you talking about because everything else should be as it was?

The bookmarks dropdown is supposed to be native styled, which in 10 dark mode is still light. Are you using the non-native menus config? That isn't really a config I considered.

If you mean the bookmarks toolbar, I do notice that is kinda an issue, but if I change the main color, then it is wouldn't really be Eclipse purple anymore.

(I'm going by the two old main colors which is #17151c and #0b0a0d)]]>

Yes, the background color of the drop down list from the toolbar is a bit too black for black icons:

Is any one else using Zapp's Photon Theme? I used it on ESR 128.10 and it worked fully. One of it's features allowed tabs under the address bar, through a pref in about:config. Now the prefs from this tool are ignored in ESR 128.12. All of the CSS customization still works though.

... Well, every r3dfox release on GitHub comes with its own "Release Notes", which are intended to be thoroughly read by prospective users of said release ;) ; did you miss them for 128.12?
This version of r3dfox isn't completely compatible with 128 ESR userChrome.css themes.
You will need to replace instances of "(-moz-bool-pref: " with "-moz-pref(" for the theme to work correctly

I need a small userscript (Tampermonkey) that *REMOVES* the inert attribute/element from ALL div tags on a given page.

Please and thanks.

ie, my page (Hulu's browse page) has "carousels" that default to only 5 being visible.
I have a custom css that allows MUCH more than 5 but the inert needs REMOVED in order to make them accessible/clickable.

I add vertical-zoom/horizontal-zoom/refresh/scroll "buttons" to all of my video streaming web sites.
They are technically only visible during "hover" but are all turned on here to demonstrate.

The workaround was to add a new button and assign an "addEventListener" 'click' function to the new button.

I need a way to PASTE a six-digit code onto a page.
The first box doesn't need selected for a ctrl-v to paste the six-digit code.
ie, as long as the browser tab is active, then a ctrl-v pastes from the clipboard and into all six boxes.
Basically, the code is COPIED from an EMAIL but then needs PASTED to Hulu's STUPID six-code page.
But I want to be able to use MOUSE ONLY, no keyboard!
The page doesn't have a "paste" context menu. :(

I use the below and it works on all other web sites that I've tried this on, it just doesn't work for Hulu's STUPID passcode page.
I click the "paste code" and then click the input field to paste into.
Works for usernames and passwords, just not this STUPID passcode on Hulu.

(function() {

let html = document.querySelector("html");
let btnV = document.createElement("buttonV");

btnV.innerHTML = "paste code";
btnV.style.display = "block";
btnV.style.position = "fixed";
btnV.style.top = "410px";
btnV.style.left = "calc(50vw - 40px)";
btnV.style.zIndex = "999999";
btnV.style.color = "#666";
btnV.style.cursor = "pointer";
btnV.style.fontSize = "14px";
btnV.style.fontFamily = "sans-serif";
btnV.style.textAlign = "center";
btnV.style.width = "80px";
btnV.style.opacity = '1';

html.appendChild(btnV);

function btnVFunction() {
const pasteButton = document.querySelector('input');
pasteButton.addEventListener('click', async () => {
try {
const text = await navigator.clipboard.readText()
document.querySelector('input').value += text;
} catch (error) {}});
}

btnV.addEventListener('click', btnVFunction);
})();

How to find yourself when you are feeling lost

Writer: Dr. Emma Medard

5 min read

6 ways to discover who you are

Do you know who you are? What you are about? What it is you want in life? Or do you feel like you have lost your own voice, the ability to know what you like or want and actually be able to ask for it? Perhaps you have started to question your choices, you don’t feel happy now but you aren’t sure where you want to go either. It may make you start to question your partner, your job, the way you live your life in general.

Whilst it is natural for our identity, our values and our wants in life to shift over time, sometimes the shift happens when we aren’t looking. We may be so ‘head down’ moving on a certain path or focussed on the day-to-day to-do list that we miss the shift entirely. This means that we can look up one-day and not really recognise ourselves anymore.

This sense of being lost and not being able to find a way forward is a common issue bought to therapy and can cause a lot of distress. What was once considered (somewhat patronisingly) as a ‘midlife crisis’ is now something that we recognise can happen at any point in our lives and can have a big impact on us (no sports car required!).

Signs you are feeling lost

Looking to others for validation and placing too much importance on other people’s opinions, feelings and beliefs to dictate what you do.

Feeling powerless or like you have lost your own voice.

Losing interest or joy in things you used to care about or enjoy.

Not knowing what you like anymore and struggling to assert preferences.

Losing sight of what you need and neglecting your self-care.

Frequent self-criticism

Considering big changes like career or relationships without knowing what is causing the unhappiness or what you want instead.

How/why do we lose ourselves?

As humans we are complex and multifaceted beings. We are not simply one thing. There are many parts of us but so often, stages in our life can mean that one (or a few) parts become the focus to such an extent that it can eclipse all the others. Work, parenting, relationships or being a carer are all common examples. It is not unusual to go on like this for years before we recognise a problem.

The trigger can come because of a sudden change like the end of a relationship, the loss of a job, our health or a loved one or our children leaving home. However, it can also be a gradual creep of acknowledgement that we are unhappy, that we no longer feel like ourselves. We don’t recognise the less dominant parts of us because they have been sidelined for so long and we struggle to remember what we are all about. What do I even like anymore?

Sometimes the way we have been living has been driven by anxiety or fear. We have prioritised certain things or focussed on achieving in order to prove ourselves - so we can feel good enough - and then one day we realise we don’t even want what we have been striving so hard for and we aren’t sure where that leaves us. Many people have told me over the years that they chose their career because it was expected by their parents or because the type of job is aspirational at it would make them feel enough. I’ve lost count of the number of people who have always worked for the next promotion but don’t actually enjoy the roles they are striving for. If we have been motivated by other people’s expectations or pushed forward by fear it can be very alien to work out what it is that YOU are all about.

What to do - How to find yourself again

If you have felt propelled, dragged or simply stuck on a particular course in life, this can be the opportunity to make an active, conscious choice. This can be quite scary. Where do I start? How do I figure out what I want? Does it mean I have to quit my job? leave my partner? Do I have to make big changes? The answer is no not necessarily. For some people that may be what they need but it is in no way a forgone conclusion. Often what we need is to redefine our relationships and our role in them in order to find ourselves again.

1. Get to know where you are right now - without judgement. Imagine you are out driving and you got lost, you would probably flick on the sat nav (if only there was a life version!) and the first thing it would need to do is detect your location now, where you are starting from. This is exactly what you need to do first too. Try to tune into how you are feeling, what your thoughts are, what you are experiencing in your body (sensations etc). This is you now. Keep track of these things for a week or so and see what you find. If you are feeling lost it is often the case that you have been living on auto pilot for so long that you have tuned out these things. You might be surprised by what you find, you might not. You might like what you find, you might not. Whatever it reveals try not to judge yourself. This is your starting point. Take a look at the feelings wheel to help you.

2. Set some boundaries. If you have become lost because so much of you has been given over to doing things for others, keeping people happy or simply keeping the ship afloat it is time to set some boundaries with your time and attention and carve some out for yourself. Delegate some tasks to others, start saying no, put yourself firmly back on the to-do list.

3. Let go of criticism. This will keep you stuck focussed on what has happened, who is at fault, why you are where you are. It won’t help you move forward effectively. When we are feeling lost we need care and kindness to find our way through not judgement and criticism.

4. Reflect on your influences & choices. Take a little time to consider where your expectations about life have come from and what has influenced your choices? We are all influenced to some degree by those around us - sometimes in a positive way and sometimes in a more controlling way. Consider how other people’s expectations have impacted on what you have done or how you have been? What are you looking to keep and what would you like to let go of?

5. Consider your values. These are not goals, they are qualities, how you want to be with yourself and the people around you. What kind of person do you want to be, how would you like others to experience you? Even if this is far away from where you are now that’s ok. This is where you want to go, what kind of person you want to be. If you don’t know your values or how to start thinking about them take a look at this blog here.

6. Try some new things. Set yourself a task to do something new and see what you enjoy. Dedicate some time to finding out what floats your boat. See what you are drawn to and what brings you joy. This not only gets us out of auto-pilot but allows us to a) Start actively prioritising ourself and our happiness for a period of time (even if it is small) and b) discover things about ourself. This can be anything from music, experiences, places, activities, clothes, food, exercise, people, holidays etc.

Finding yourself again (or perhaps for the first time) can take time and can be a little daunting. However, it can also be a really great opportunity. If you start to discover things that are difficult or you find yourself getting stuck it can be a good time to seek support from a therapist or coach who can help you along the way.

One ::: Re: bloat-free Win10 - it seems nobody is "really" interested in WinReducer EX-100 and *nobody* has used the configuration files that I provided as how I tweak/mod Win10 *2016* into a bloat-free OS that is much much MUCH better than XP per my own experiences with the two OS's.

And that is despite what appears to me is a *FAKE* download count.
Over FOUR HUNDRED DOWNLOADS but ZERO reports on if these "downloaders" have so much as even used what they downloaded.
No, these users (I have to assume) would prefer to just download a "Tiny10" ISO where the footwork was "baby-fed" for them.
"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."
Trust me on this, I have used "Tiny10" and no offense to its development, but it is EXTREMELY BLOATED in comparison.

2025-06-14_7-13-30.jpg

Two ::: Re: "how" I watch/listen - this has been a REVOLUTIONARY new way for ME to watch/listen for MY entertainment value. It SOLVES "attention-deficit" and "mind-race" and "psychomotor agitation" better than ANYTHING ever "suggested" to me over the years! The "GridMove" drag-and-drop window placement is AWESOME! Roughly 60% of the time, I watch four videos simultaneously. With the remaining 40% split evenly between either five or seven simultaneous streams. The 4, 5, and 7 scenarios work really well for maintaining "close-enough" aspect ratios.

2025-06-14_7-25-07.jpg

Three ::: Re: more on "how" I watch/listen - this 4, 5, or 7 scenarios has evolved into "feeding my OCD" obscession. While technically not "clinically" defined as OCD, everybody I know labels me it and moreso than some that are "clinical". But I personally think that is HUMAN NATURE. In my view, we *ALL* have a little OCD, we *ALL* have a litte PTSD, we *ALL* have a little depression, we *ALL* have a little bi-polarism, we *ALL* have a little ADHD, we *ALL* have a little this, a little that. EVERY D#MN ONE OF US! ie, the obscession being userstyles and userscripts.

You see, we *ALL* have "triggers" in our life that result in "brain rage"! My "triggers" will not be the same as your "triggers" and vice versa. I am no bible-thumper, for lack of a better word, but I know before even saying it out loud that what "triggers" a p#ssed-off-mood for ME is not the same as many here.

I have MANY "triggers". Why do 99% of all toothpaste commercials portray a FEMALE dentist? I have never once met a FEMALE dentist in my entire life! This extremist portrayal of wokeism puts me in a p#ssed-off-mood. Why? Because I have nephews that claim they have nothing to look forward to in life, because FEMALES and minorities are being given opportunities that they are DENIED. And we wonder why BOYS want to participate in FEMALE sports! Sorry, maybe that was over-the-top.

Movies nowadays have agendas. They have become WAY too PREDICTABLE. A fight scene is about to break out between a 250 pound MALE and a 120 pound FEMALE. Predictable, predictable, predictable! The 120 pound FEMALE ***WILL*** be kicking the @ss of that 250 pound MALE. Right down to defying all laws of physics and catching his fist in mid-air. Extremist portrayal of wokeism! Got a fight scene about to break out between a 120 pound female WHITE versus a 120 pound female MINORITY. Predictable, predictable, predictable! The MINORITY is going to win! EVERY TIME! Predictable, predictable, predictable.

Sorry, but don't get me started on MALES in movies crying their eyes out! Hate it, hate it, hate it! Trigger, Trigger, Trigger. I am "entitled" to my triggers as much as the next. Userscripts and userstyles to the rescue. Gray out the two men kissing or holding hands, out of sight out of mind, I have no interest in watching. Gray it out, mute it, et cetera. All with the quick move of the mouse.

Same goes for bullets flying every where LOUD and OBNOXIOUS scenes. A quick move of the mouse and the volume is cut 80%!
Somebody about to vomit? A quick move of the mouse, blur the screen. Out of sight, out of mind.

To each their own, of course. Just saying, this new method of "how" I watch/listen has resulted in a very great deal of Peace-of-Mind. Out of sight, out of mind. Triggers? What triggers, just mute or blur or gray out. Trigger averted.

Netflix (and I'm sure others) will only load the first few rows of selections when the page is first loaded.
You have to manually scroll down a tad for the remainder of the page to load into view.
Back in the day, this used to be called "lazy load" for IMAGES but nowadays it isn't restricted to just img tags.

So I scroll down a tiny tad then scroll back to the top 3 and 3.5 seconds after the page loads.
Whoala! The ENTIRE PAGE loads instead of just the first few rows. YEAH!

Cheap, probably better solutions, but it works. :geek:

1. Acknowledge and Process Your Feelings:

Grieve and heal: Allow yourself time to process the pain and hurt caused by past betrayals.

Identify your trust issues: Understand the root of your distrust and why it's affecting your ability to trust.
Consider therapy: A therapist can help you explore your emotions, identify patterns, and develop healthy coping mechanisms.

2. Practice Vulnerability and Communication:

Embrace vulnerability: Be open to sharing your feelings and thoughts with others, but start slowly and with trusted individuals.

Communicate your needs and boundaries: Clearly communicate your expectations and what you need from others.
Learn to set healthy boundaries: Protect yourself by setting limits and not overextending yourself.

3. Look for Trustworthy Behaviors:

Follow through on small things: Demonstrate reliability by keeping your promises and following through on commitments.

Spread the trust: Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Trust a few people in your life a little bit, rather than relying on one person entirely.
Actively seek trustworthy individuals: Look for people who demonstrate kindness, empathy, and reliability.

4. Build Trust in Yourself:

Self-trust: Believe in your own abilities and intuition.

Self-compassion: Be kind and understanding towards yourself, especially when you are struggling.
Challenge negative beliefs: If you believe you're unworthy of trust, actively challenge that belief and replace it with a more positive one.

5. Prioritize Relationships and Communication:

Communicate openly and honestly: Be transparent with your emotions and expectations.

Listen actively and empathetically: Show that you care about the other person's feelings.
Build a strong foundation of communication: Focus on creating a safe and supportive environment where you can communicate openly and honestly.

6. Seek Professional Help if Needed:

Therapy can be invaluable:
.

A therapist can help you process past traumas, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and rebuild trust in yourself and others.
Consider couples therapy:
.
If you are in a relationship where trust has been broken, couples therapy can help you rebuild communication and trust.

7. Remember to Be Patient:

Trust is a process:
Rebuilding trust takes time and effort. Don't get discouraged if it doesn't happen overnight.

Celebrate small victories:
Acknowledge the progress you've made and celebrate the steps you've taken towards rebuilding trust.
Focus on the future:
Create a vision for a future where you can trust others and experience positive relationships.]]>

I'm doing alright (just alright) with the benzodiazepine taper - I'm down to 2 tablets a day for 2 weeks and they down to 1 table and I only want to use them when I'm absolutely a basket case. Addictive medications are so hard to come off. Although I feel stable I wouldn't say my mental health is all that great and I'm quite pessimistic given that current state of this society. I don't fit and my very existence is at odds with the universe and at times I wish I had never been born at all. But here is am 'the worse for the wear' and surviving. I don't like being in public in June because I feel unsafe during pride month and I'll be glad when its over with when it come to pride all people think about is guys in thongs and leather and it should be about love and dedication and appreciating. As I sit here I don't know what to say. Don't know, even though I need to get a lot off my chest I keep it bottled up and eat at my stomach. I do have ulcers and stress doesn't help.

Ok, so I'll be appreciative that at least I'm stable about all I can say but I'm not a bundle of joy by any stretch of the imagination.

I hope everybody else is doing better than I am.

PS: if you doctors ever try to start you on a benzodiazepine avoid them at all cost; period! Besides they lose effectiveness after a while. Next I do want off the gabapentin too but I'm not there yet. Pills, pills, pills ... they don't fix anything. That being said my antidepressant is keeping me on two feet. Sleep has been rough.]]>

I think I'm going to have to take the benzodiazepine taper a bit slower and stay at 1mg of Clonazepam for 3 weeks and then I might have to chop the pills in 1/2 or something for another 3 weeks before I try to jump off it. Trust me ... its a bitch coming off of meds like this and the body goes through withdrawal so slow and steady wins the race.

Overall I feel (sort of) stable but still unhappy and I'm not even seeking happiness just to be content and comfortable. Just nagging things eating away at me. I feel like life has drained me of any joy(s) and dreams I once had and I'm just an empty shell now "waiting'. :oops:

Might write more later...]]>

In the 3rd grade, my teacher handed me an envelope to take home to my parents.
I was never informed of the contents of that envelope until I was in high school!
All I knew at that young age was that DAD took me and my brothers/sisters to school the next day.
Dad never took us to school, something was up!
Dad guided us to the gym and proceeded to the Principal's Office just around the corner.
Every one of us then heard through closed doors that our dad was YELLING and SHOUTING at the Principal!
It wasn't until high school that details were revealed.
The teacher/principal/school wanted to put me on "mood altering drugs".
My parents were DEAD SET AGAINST IT !!!
Dad's famous family quote to every teacher from then on out, "We have learned to deal with him in a loving and respectful manner, SO WILL YOU!"
To this day, I have *NEVER* been "drugged", despite a couple doctors recommending it over the years.
I AM CONVINCED THAT MY LIFE HAS BEEN MUCH MUCH MUCH BETTER AS A RESULT !!!]]>

I feel ya. Time doesn't heal all wounds and what doesn't kill you doesn't make you stronger, may just leave you messed up. We all have different breaking points.

In relation to what I wrote above, I feel like I've been surrounded by primitives my whole life and civilization is still stuck in ancient times. I certainly think it would be much better to be around people from who you can learn something valuable. Perhaps in another reality...
The-10-Pen wrote: 10 Jun 2025, 19:51 Knowing/reading your other online posts, are you seriously suggesting that the school shooting boils down to Biblical "Jew versus Gentile" ???
If it sounded anything like it, it's coincidental, I distance myself from religions and their texts.

It's a hypothetical what if such an act really accomplishes greater good in the grand scheme. Perhaps things really are as bad, history certainly never inspired confidence.

I don't know the solution. On one hand, one becomes the monster he despises by stooping on that level. Although death strikes me as a more merciful punishment for someone that has harmed others, because he won't be there paying the price in person. On other hand, a whole lot more prisons may have to be built if there was such a thing as true justice.
xperceniol_sal wrote: 11 Jun 2025, 00:13 I don't know, I'm 'cut' and I guess I just know nothing else and I rarely think about it.
I don't have to make a conscious decision, the thoughts bleed through no matter what I do. There is no escape and no relief. As a child, I thought something was odd, but couldn't point the finger at it. I felt something was inconsistent compared to other body parts. There is also this strangely persistent, blurry, but nevertheless persistent childhood memory, me just sitting in the bath tub, looking down there, possibly confused. What's the significance? Why I'm not remembering something else instead, like one of the places from family trips?

Back in the elementary school, I had this thought that I'm going to die when I grow up. I was convinced I want to die because adult life oughtta be lame. I don't recall thinking any specifics at the time, like the bills, I just saw death.

I found out what happened when researching sexy things in early 20s. Turned out I already died in 1995. The belief that my body was like how I was born was a lie. It explained the disconnect I feel with my supposed "private" parts since forever. The random pain impulses, the pale zombified appearance, impaired function...that such practice exists, that my parent that is so for truth and honesty handed me over to a monster and kept that from me, then I read on the internet (!!!) I was butchered and part of me thrown in the fucking trash. Hippocratic Oath, "My body, my choice", the constitution, all just empty words written on paper.

So as a surviving piece of trash, I crawl through the existence on this prison planet, waiting for it all to end.]]>

Seems to me that at 53, you still compare yourself to a teenager. Unless I'm misreading.

53 year olds are not "supposed to" have as many true and trusted friends as a teenager (who falsely equates "followers" on social media as "friends").
53 year olds are not "supposed to" blindly trust. Wisdom comes with age.
53 years olds are SUPPOSED TO have the "wisdom to know the difference" and know to "not sweat the small stuff, and it's all small stuff".

edit: maybe that's not worded very well.
To me, it's NEGATIVE THINKING to sit back and complain about an isolated lifestyle.
To me, it's POSITIVE THINKING to just accept what is and be content and happy with what is.

Yeah, I don't mean to always make it sound like I'm complaining about being isolated .. it has its good side(s) ... I like being alone and I wouldn't want 2-faced friends anyway I'd rather appreciate my own company and my plants and the occasional squirrels and chipmunks and cats and dogs I bump into. Don't get me wrong, I'm friendly to people when I meet them but I'm also glad to part ways and be on my own. You're so right and my doctors are always telling me to practice radical acceptance. I guess I'm happy with what it is I just wish I recognized this earlier in my life rather than fighting (my) reality. I'm not even seeking happiness rather just to be content one day because I'm still far too conflicted than I care for at this age when I should be relaxing. See the conflicting parts there?! I would find friendship to be exhausting and and I'm not even looking for a partner at this point. I'm poor and I get by on little and I live a modest lifestyle ... and even if were rich I'd still be humble.

Thank you for trying to help me, though. I appreciate it.]]>

A lot? I was close only to one person from high school. It must have lasted about a decade, then was ghosted shortly after COVID-19 settled down.

Yeah, be here long enough and the death starts knocking. It's an unsettling feeling to say the least, suddenly you realize that or that person is suddenly older than the version in your memory. And at some point, funerals...

People from generation Z tend to remind me, damn, I'm slowly racking up my years.

I relate, moving through life like a walking corpse, all too familiar. Even my (stupid) family occasionally remarks that there's no life in me.

Computer games are one shining light in this otherwise anhedonic existence for me. Not as exciting as they used to be, but I'm partially successful in enjoying them again. Work gets in the way, not as thrilled about playing after already spending good amount of time at computer at work.

Played a bit more this week when I was free. I have too many games on my Steam account, but I usually end up just replaying old favorites.

Having your present stained by the past events suck, cannot escape from one's own body, I just cope in a way I'm able to. There's no real solution and people might fall in all sort of holes that end up hurting their bodies more long term. Some sort of physical activity might be beneficial.]]>

I drank and used drugs for well over a decade trying to escape all to wind up 'full circle' and back where I started and been to rehab countless times and after the last one I've maintained sobriety. Can not go back to that or that would be my demise and that doesn't scare me beyond winding up in more pain or becoming a vegetable. I don't have the energy to come back this time which is why I'm SO SO SO careful nowadays. I'm still on too many pills and the doctor wants to add more and I refuse. To be honest, I'm just plain nuts. I just cope by laying in bed on some days and laying on the sofa 'waiting' for peace - sometimes that comes in sleep and sometimes not :(]]>
