That's good to know. 7E is SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED so something is not being handled, but idk. Have you tried Windows XP?

No problem! Glad I had the hardware (else I wouldn't have pushed for a working driver, lol). Is it ok if I also put this guide on my website as well? Obviously, you'll be credited. Yeah, sure, it's not like you already put it in a driver pack before I was ready to release it. It's available to read...

I kinda wish you kept the forums as another eBoard2 testbed, but I guess that's fine since https://eboard2.eclipse.cx will exist for the foreseeable future.
Technically, it is still there, but I renamed the folder. I'll PM you the link.

I launched this website a year ago on November 4th, 2021 and have been promoting it since then. Now that I can make announcements here, I thought one would be a good idea to promote my blog. What is this blog? It's a blog dedicated to Microsoft Windows. This is where I'll post my Windows adventures ...

Yes, Eclipse is definitely back! Time to bow down to your new overlords K4Sum1 and Moline! Anyone who misbehaves gets the boot! This boot to be exact! It's very stinky and you have to wear it all day! Maybe don't say it like that, and please stop capitalizing the s. Sorry about that. I seriously th...

I found the fix to this problem! In FireFox, you can select different themes such as Appenglow. Just select one of those and it will override the Windows theme for FireFox only.

So I got a hold of the Windows Vista extended iso, modified the acpi.sys file with the same patch K4sum1 gave me for 7, and it got past the point where it would crash normally without it. After that point however, it still freezes, this time I assume due to a different reason. The boot log mode doe...

You do not have an error code because you do not have CSM. Are you on a laptop? I have a laptop with no CSM, and I was unable to get 7 to work yet. Go to safe mode and see the last .sys file that is loaded. I am. I tried Safe Mode and I think the last .sys file that loaded was disk.sys or something...

What point at the Windows logo? You might have to replace the acpi.sys again like I did Before it is fully formed, as in it's just 4 dots. With K4Sum1's media, it has the 8.1 installer so it loads up just fine and gets through the first stage, but the second stage it does not. I even replaced the A...

What I had to do was: Make USB via Rufus (I used GPT, though WITH CSM as 7's UEFI mode needs legacy features) Disconnect all other drives but my main drive (I did not install on the NVME) Proceed with installation as normal Boot into another OS (Windows 8.1 for me) and replace the acpi.sys in the n...

OH I figured it out! So the acpi.sys is unpatched in the install.wim, so that is why it won't boot. I simply had to patch that file, and I just have to rebuild the signature somehow. Any ideas how? Using CFF Explorer, open the file and there should be an option somewhere that rebuilds the checksum....

Well, using a modified ACPI.sys did not appear to work. I edited it in Hex Editor, rebuilt its checksum using CFF Explorer, copied it to the System32/drivers folder, and rebooted into 7, but I got an error saying the signature didn't match or something so I disabled driver signature enforcement whic...

I have a Lenovo IdeaPad 3 with 11th Gen Intel Tiger Lake and Intel Iris Xe Graphics. I want to see if Windows 7 will work, but unfortunately I don't have Legacy Mode and when I tried it with K4Sum1's 2020 ISO and UEFI7, but after the first stage of setup completed (copying/expanding the files, etc) ...

Okay just tested this out on my laptop (10th gen, only NVME) and it works. Sort of. It installed and loaded but I get a black screen and screen artifacts on the top of it. I am assuming this is due to a lack of graphical drivers (10th gen Intel UHD). I don't think so as Standard VGA Graphics Adapte...

Isn't it possible to enable CSM but boot in UEFI? (unless UEFI-only) Only in the early UEFI-laptops (such as Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge) and even then it depends on the manufacturer. For instance, my Dell Latitude E6530 with Ivy Bridge has this feature and is what I needed to make it work, but my ...

You rename that file to bootmgfw.original.efi and then copy over bootx64.efi from the UEFI7 download to that same folder and then rename it to bootmgfw.efi. Thanks! So I've come into another issue doing that: Now that the UEFISeven bootloader patch is correctly installed, booting windows 7 in UEFI ...

Just use CSM and legacy boot. This guide is meant to be only used for devices that don't support legacy boot. There is no real advantage with UEFI booting, only pain. It might be some mistake on my part, but I can't seems to boot successfully my Boot keys with CSM activated, and need to activate CS...

I'm not sure of how to fix this, all I can really do is make a list of boards that do and don't work with Vista.
That actually would be helpful. Maybe have two lists. Boards that work with Vista OOB (Intel Ivy Bridge and earlier) and boards that work with Vista with modification to drivers.

If, somehow, more modern AMD Ryzen graphics work with Vista, then this might be the option I choose if I build a brand new laptop, that way I can dual-boot Vista, 7, 8.1, and 11, but I highly doubt it would.

What board do you have?
It's great he got it working on Ryzen, but will AMD Ryzen Graphics work? They will work if this one was around the time of Ivy Bridge/very early Haswell, but if this is later, I reckon they will not.

Does anyone know how I can get the RTL8811CU Realtek USB Wi-Fi to work with Windows 2000? The description on Amazon said it supports 2000, but I can only find XP and later drivers. Any help is greatly appreciated!
