XP bootscreen on Windows 10
This is more of a curiosity than a real thing. It should be possible with graphicsmodedisabled 1 and editing the Vista fallback, however there may be a XP bootscreen hidden inside 10 that appears in very rare circumstances. I've only found two references to this ever happening. First was the result...

I am working on getting a minimal Linux install with Envy on there, theoretically it should fit on a CD.xperceniol_sal wrote: ↑05 Apr 2024, 19:02 Is there a downloadable live version I could put on a DVD?

windows 10 in 2023-beyond?
Are there any real core differences that make 11 more appealing over 10? DX12U, more updates, iTunes (for some fucking reason), some games. People asked the same question about W10 when it first came out compared to 7 and most software straight up abandoned 7 today. So in around a year or so, softw...

POPCNT is only in the new USB drivers. I'm pretty sure someone can backport the one in W11 23H2.
I believe I do have reason for hope, as even in the latest Windows 11 Canary, you can just pull the Windows 10 Explorer from W10 22H2 and slap it on W11.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure Win 10 LTSC 2021 is set to get updates until 2030. And since it won't get major updates it is a prime candidate to modding. I think transforming 11 to 10 will be a better option going forward, since 11 still uses NT 10, and the 10 explorer works just fin...

I don't like super thin bezels or notches or curved edges. I find myself accidentally touching the screen on my XZ2C when I use it because of the thin bezels and flush design while the XZ1C has thicker bezels and the screen is a bit inset. What about the Infinity Display found in Samsung S8/S9 but ...

Classic iPods aren't practical, and aren't worth using.
There is no scenario that I can think of where an iPod makes practical sense to be used. It might be fun to mod, or experiment with, but that's all I can think of. I just can't see any basic music player as a good music device today when old Android phones are cheaper and infinitely more capable. t...

tiny10 1809 still faster https://dl.malwarewatch.org/windows/mods/Tiny%2010.iso I wonder what is faster: Tiny10 or AtlasOS. Early builds of W10 are really fast in comaprison with later builds. W10 2015 & 2016 LTSB are probably the festest builds 've done some tests on my terminal (Celeron N4000...

This is version 0.2 of ChromeForAll, an active Chrome v110 launcher for Windows 7 (8/8.1 support later), though i'm using vxkex for most of it. I made the launcher.

Basically, 10 is likely to last pretty long after the EOS date. 11 has no real gain over it, and 11 can't officially be installed on a lot of hardware still out there. A lot of people will stick with 10, and Microsoft will have to get the shills running extra hard to scare people about the EOS date...

My theory as to why Microsoft is attempting to force TPM 2.0 as a requirement for Windows 11
From what I've heard, Microsoft is requiring Windows 11 laptops to sell with webcams, not that the user needs one. Duct tape sales are about to skyrocket. But seriously, I think MS just wants to fuck with the economy rather then invading our privacy by skyrocketing duct tape and TPM chip remover sa...
