Is it possible to get Windows Server 2012 R2 updates on Windows 8.1?

Just curious, I've tried before but it wouldn't let me install it. Has anyone successfully managed this?

I don't really blame them for not wanting to support an OS that has only maybe a few hundred thousand users (and yeah I'm guesstimating that the amount of users using Windows XP is in the hundred thousands)

Chrome to end support for both 7 and 8.1 with version 110 (Jan.2023)

convenient they can't class this as a separate OS, just a repeated of Vista situation from years ago. Windows 8 has barely any market share. From a developers' perspective, it doesn't make any sense to let 8.1 use Chrome for another few years. Vista was also in the same position back when Chrome dr...

Installing Longhorn 3683 In Its Bare Minimum Requirements.

https://i.imgur.com/w3TteGa.png I have installed Longhorn 3683 under a Pentium 75, 64MB RAM, and a base VGA graphics adapter. You may think this is just a slow Longhorn build, but you're underestimating how slow this really is. This was an upgrade from Windows XP, and the upgrade took about 2 hours...

Rant about Windows 10 here! [formerly titled Share your Windows 10 experience!!]

My experience with Windows 10 was really good at the beginning, but it just tapered off over time when I started to realize how much slower and bloated the OS would later become. I have lost hope in Windows 11

3. People who manage to install Windows 11 on unsupported hardware that are insiders, will be banned from the Windows 11 Insider Program. Yep. Microsoft is trying to cover that Windows 11 works on unsupported hardware. When did Microsoft say that? They said they would boot people with unsupported h...
