Windows SSD optimization guide
This is an additional post, there are three major differences between my post and the old post that I'd like to list here before we get to the commands. I think there is no use for EWFTool. It appears to be a write caching program, which Windows can do anyways. I don't have any write caching tweaks ...

This is basically a successor to this post . Before you install Windows, set your computer to AHCI mode. Unless your computer is very old or very locked down, the option should be somewhere in the BIOS. This makes the SATA controller function like an actual SATA controller and is much faster for SSD...

You might read the title and think doesn't this already exist? Well yes, but I found that now with the x86 portion of the extended kernel being so good, you can use the x86 files as well. So I made a modified setup that adds the x86 files. It's attached to this post. Apparently you can use it to get...

If you want the WMP9 look, I recommend using this WMP12 skin instead, looks the part and works great.

Extended Kernel Compatibility With Server 2008 Updates? (Part 1)
I have a collection of 2008 only updates that I want to integrate into the stock Vista ISO after I figure out how to integrate drivers. Next update gonna be pretty nice. These modify more minor things so they should still work with the extended kernel.

I haven't really gotten around to looking at this, but I think I can either get it mostly/fully working, or a weird big picture only client.

I came across this video showing Windows Media Player 11 on Windows 11. I wanted to try it myself on Windows 8.1 to see if they fixed the visualization bug, and it appears that they have. There are also other extras like Windows Photo Gallery and more visualizations. The video is below if you want t...

I modded libcef.dll to get the game launching. It crashes in my test VM probably because it doesn't support DX11, but no guarantees.

So the game uses x86 CEF. Might try getting a older CEF working, but if they're building from source, you could try asking for a x64 build.

I was gonna laugh at this since early runtimes have specific OS releases, but the modern runtimes actually are decent. This has some practicality.

I expanded upon what I found for the 14/15in ultrabook category, meaning there's more 14in's listed, and there's actually 15in options now.

Would it be possible to make a version with no GPU drivers? Also I think it would be nice to optimize XP for SSDs, disabling defragging, disable last access, disable prefetch/superfetch, etc.

I'd think it would be better to just remove the requirement instead of including the dll if you're already modifying source.

Not entirely sure, I've heard they can be slower as qBittorrent is better at finding seeds, but I haven't seen it tested.

MSI laptops do have forced Optimus. From what I can tell Thinkpads allow for disabling Optimus, and any laptop with G-Sync allows for disabling it too. Going too old you run into odd issues like the 8770W not able to use 1000+ series cards without the rare Dreamcolor display. For newer stuff, you ca...
