What OS on a Old PC?
So far i was considering Alpine Linux or FreeBSD. If you want freebsd, sure good option for an alternative os but check the hardware if it's freebsd compatible, some of the newer/older hardware might not be supported on freebsd. Yeah i checked for that and it's compatible for now. The newest versio...

Email clients?
I mean i pretty much found i think my ideal client but i wanna know your thoughts on different email clients what y'all use and y'all recommend. I personally use claws mail but i used Thunderbird before. I switched cause now Thunderbird feels bloated and it's "heavy" like 230 MB is quite a...

Pale moon as a daily driver?
What do you all think about Pale moon as a daily driver these days? Cause i gotta say it's still somehow quite usable it just takes time to setup up shit like u matrix (and in theory u matrix is the better option but it's really just a simulator of turning shit back on until it works or turning shi...

IRC Bridge to the Discord?
I mean an IRC bridge would be quite nice imo. And from the last time i checked there are quite many ways to do it and all seem quite easy. Hello, one of those discord moderators here. I do propose to make an irc & xmpp bridge that goes straight to the discord server and possibly convince the ow...

Whats the best Email provider?
Well i have found out some more about email providers! and now there are many cool options imo. One of them which is paid (12 € a year) is Posteo.de based in Germany pretty good track record. Tutanota is also cool if you want something free. Proton is fine imo it just personal preferences. Cock.li i...

AI is the future and why anti-AI rhetoric is deeply flawed
Well to be honest i personally like when AI is just a optional tool. But i hate when AI is just showed down our throats (Like in the case of Copilot on edge or on latest version of Windows). I mean even GPT 3-5 is very helpful at explaining some more advance shit. It really helped me learn quite a l...

Why does Google do this?
Now you might think, oh it's the phone number connected to this account? Fuck no, you can put in any random phone number and they will just send you a code. Yup i was real surprised when i did that. I mean in general almost all forms of 2fa google offers are kinda trash. Like with recaptcha they ar...

What OS on a Old PC?
@Niko: An SSD makes a massive difference in speed on the old machines. Especially noticeable on (big) data access and startup. Running Salix here on a much weaker Intel Atom 1,6 GHz with only 1 GB of RAM. 15.0 is too much for it, but the unsupported 14.2 is still useable. Your computer could carry ...
