Yeah, that looks ugly, I agree, but I actually never did that

ME: glares at Publisher and OneNote
It's OneNote. On attempting to launch it, it throws an error like this: [don't know the exact message displayed]
I think I'd put 2010 over 2007 and 2013 over 2016 in my list.docR wrote: ↑13 Mar 2021, 08:18 Office 2007 Enterprise all the way :3 2010 is a close second for me. Access/Outlook were improved in 2010, but I preferred the interface and activation method otherwise in 2007.
So for me in order of greatest to worse:
-Office 2007
-Office 2010
-Office 2003
-Office 2016
-Office 2013

I almost feel this doesn't even deserve a mention, but 365 is descended from the ninth circle from Hell.
I'm still a little ambivalent about 2007/2010. I just love the shinier color palette found in 2007. I also like how I don't need mstoolkit to crack it either. The 'Blue' edition of Enterprise is completely key-less. Keys can be entered offline too. I just run the standalone SP3 updater after installation.R3n wrote: ↑13 Mar 2021, 08:35I think I'd put 2010 over 2007 and 2013 over 2016 in my list.docR wrote: ↑13 Mar 2021, 08:18 Office 2007 Enterprise all the way :3 2010 is a close second for me. I too prefer 2007's activation method, but 2010's dark theme looks better than 2007's on Vista IMO, and that's what is my default theme on my Office 2010 install on my Vista.
Yeah I just switched back myself. It is indeed a fair deal better nglWin10-Hater wrote: ↑09 Apr 2021, 06:32I too prefer 2007's activation method, but 2010's dark theme looks better than 2007's on Vista IMO, and that's what is my default theme on my Office 2010 install on my Vista.
2002 if you're unwilling to sift through billions of dead VLKs to find one that works.
What sort of compatibility issues if I may ask? The activation system is certainly more elegant. Appearance... Depends imo. I think the default blue theme looks prettier than 2010's default white, as does the silver theme. The dark theme I feel is a bit tidier in 2010 though, which is what I always default to anyway. Formatting options in the paste context menu are nice.... Kinda do like 2007's smaller hamburger menu and orb, however.
At first I didn't like the 2007 dark theme, but now that I'm trying it again, I think I like it better, because it has more detail and aero styling in it.docR wrote: ↑11 Apr 2021, 16:16What sort of compatibility issues if I may ask? Curious how we've switched places with me on 2010 and you on 2007![]()
It's a bit flashier, yeah. Bit rougher and less smooth around the edges though... idk I go back and forth about it. I very well may switch back, but so far I'm satisfied. Yeah, with WINE if you use the sku from your 2017 installer or Enterprise Blue, no activation service at all. Works real well on Linux.R3n wrote: ↑11 Apr 2021, 17:36At first I didn't like the 2007 dark theme, but now that I'm trying it again, I think I like it better, because it has more detail and aero styling in it.docR wrote: ↑11 Apr 2021, 16:16What sort of compatibility issues if I may ask? The compatibility issues are with Linux Wine and XP x64. Although I'm probably never going to use Office with Linux and only have one XP x64 machine, I like having the capability.
