So 3 years ago this guy created a patch, which allowed for Windows Vista to connect to the official Microsoft servers and download updates from there.
3 years later and this guy is STILL maintaining this patch and it apparently STILL WORKS!

Due to server slowness, downtime, and other issues, Eclipse will be moving to a more stable and efficient platform that should result in much better stability. There is no timeline for this yet, just want you to know what's happening with all the downtime and I have a plan to fix it.

OMFG IT WORKS!!!
The first time it took about 30-45 minutes to complete the check for updates, but after that, it downloads them really fast!
FROM THE OFFICIAL MICROSOFT SERVERS!
It even found the Ultimate Extras!
