I was spending some time in the junkyard, getting parts for my Cutlass, when i came upon a 1991 Buick Electra Park Avenue, with the most immaculate interior I had ever seen in a scrap heap. The leather on the seats was basically factory fresh, I thought it would be a shame to leave it there.
So I brought it home!
For those of you who have been spending your evenings on metal folding chairs, or cheap wooden collapsibles with foam so old and compressed that it might as well not be there, this may be of some interest.
Total project cost was about 50 bucks
Passenger seat (with motors) - $23
disgusting office chair off of the side of the road - free
plywood board and hardware- ~$25
And an afternoon
Eventually I may purchase some seat controls and mount them to the side, to get the tilt/slide feature. I don't think they're useful on a desk chair, but it would be funny.
