Due to server slowness, downtime, and other issues, Eclipse will be moving to a more stable and efficient platform that should result in much better stability. There is no timeline for this yet, just want you to know what's happening with all the downtime and I have a plan to fix it.

Vista Extended Kernel Application Compatibility Thread

Unread post by wacker4315 »

Can we get a thread of applications tested and working with the Windows Vista extended kernel?
I'll start.

-ArmCord (Win7/8 Legacy)
-MSI Afterburner up until 4.5.0 (normal Vista can use the latest)
-GNU IceCat 102esr (115esr probably possible)
-Firefox 102esr
-Free Download Manager
-Unigine Superposition Benchmark
-Steam (https://board.eclipse.cx/viewtopic.php?t=545)
-Dolphin (https://board.eclipse.cx/viewtopic.php?p=4949&hilit=dolphin#p4949)
-WACUP (according to some people, I haven't been able to get it working myself)

This is just what I have tested so far, and the purpose of this thread is for people to update this with what they have tested.

I forgot to mention it, but games can also be discussed here too.

My current tested list of games that work are:

-GTA V
-Dark Souls Remastered

From how I see it any game that works on Windows 7 will work on Vista, but I will have to test a few newer games to test this (RDR2, Doom Eternal, Doom 2016, etc)

This could be due to old drivers having lacking Vulkan support rather than extended kernel lacking features

That's exactly what I was meaning, its unfixable unless someone manages to backport a newer driver (maybe one from 2018 at minimum?)
