I've bought a Sound BlasterX AE-5 Plus last month, which is silly in a way, it's probably worth more than the rest of the computer. But it can be moved to another computer. One disk out of three died many months ago, might be 2 years already if not more, bad sectors, almost unreadable, didn't feel like unplugging it, so just dismounted it in Windows.
I'm feeling the lack of SSE 4.1 instructions, it's not critical at this point, but it's definitely getting long in the tooth. Heck, official Pale Moon build wants AVX instructions, so have to roll with unofficial build.
Got extra 2 GB of RAM a year ago, so I'm at 6 GB, some cheap Kingston that's out of place near the more decent Mushkin modules. That helps a bit. I don't usually buy used stuff, don't like the idea of buying directly from random people online, I got it at some shop that takes used hardware.
Lots of stuff to sort through, hopefully I get to it before the remaining disks start to fail. And since I got a discrete sound card and some extra RAM, might as well get some more out of this computer.
Got a Raspberry Pi 5 as well, which is neat in its own way, the CPU has quite a punch considering the size and power consumption, I got it because I got overexcited about the possibility to fix the old router, which turned out to be physically fried.
Guess I'm a casual when it comes to clothing, keeping it simple.
