for anyone looking to get into linux i would highly recommend linux mint as its useability as well as beauty and design make it the perfect os for old or modern hardware and is free from all the telemetry and everything that makes windows annoying and would be perfect for anyone looking to ditch windows all together ❤

I agree - linux mint is very reliable. I also use it and it picks up my old HP Deskjet1000 printer which is a bonus. :)

after a few months ive decided linux mint is to finicky to even get working as its constently corrupting itself over simple kernal changes and gpus especially amds work terribly on it if your looking for a new destro to call home mint is definitely not the one

Well, I think Linux Mint is a good and easy way for switching to Linux for people who come from Windows.
I've never heard about such problems like yours

I like Linux Mint Mate 21.2 over the upgrades.

linuxmint-22.1-mate-64bit-beta.

Not too bad! It picked up my ancient HP Deskjet 1000 - I was surprised at that. Overall smooth and responsive. Will likely at some point join the Mint forum but right now I'm in no shape for another forum. Hmmm ... pretty good; actually. YT was unusually smooth, as well. I would consider this when XP becomes unusable.

Ngl I personally really like Fedora KDE. For me it's the perfect reliable and easy to use distro. It was pretty much the distro which made me switch from Windows 11 to linux

XFCE, MATE, and Cinnamon are all cool, and Linux Mint does all three of them. I wish there was a way to do a minimal install of Mint, or a separate minimal ISO. It's kinda big.

Yeah mint does all of them amazingly but true a minimal ISO would be very nice.
