Way to boost uploading speed on Internet Archive
DISCLAIMER: THIS IS NOT A SPONSORSHIP.
If you're far away from San Francisco, California, USA (where the Internet Archive server is located), the uploading speed is very slow.
A way to boost uploading speed to the Internet Archive is connecting to a VPN server located in California, which is close to the Internet Archive's location. I would recommend paid VPNs such as Proton VPN.
I have Proton VPN's Plus subscription. Tried connecting from Vietnam to a Proton VPN server in San Jose (which is close to the Internet Archive) and uploading a 4 GB file to another Internet Archive account, and that's much faster than without a VPN. Tried Los Angeles also, and the speed isn't much different from San Jose for me.

I discovered this too, I use Windscribe, and found this to be the case. However I had never thought to post it here.

I see Windscribe has a Firefox extension, but is it really free to use ? On their site they just say it requires a Windscribe account.
https://windscribe.com/knowledge-base/articles/getting-started-with-windscribe-on-firefox/
And on the extension page we can read:
"Free plan provides 10 GB of data per month (if you confirm your email address)"
Can it be used without the desktop program ?

I forgot I mirrored something to archive.org and then I forgot to update it. I can test if browser extension works.

I've used it in the past. Only from within a VM.
It's been several years, but yeah, it did at least then require the desktop program.
Unless they finally caught on, "grr" email addresses are allowed as an "account".
ie, poplular "temporary" email address used for creating accounts like that and then the email "address" never accessed ever again.

If I start the upload and then turn on the browser extension, it doesn't do anything. But if I start it and then start the upload, it appears to work. the speed is overall much higher, but the graph looks more sporadic.

The best way for long run is to subscribe to a VPN service and install its application to your device if you're running a supported OS.
