As I said, it's a very basic generic USB mouse which is natively working on every version of Windows but Windows 11. It's also working fine on Android tablets. I don't remember the brand and the model, it's not mine. But I was there when my friend tried it on Windows 11.

Same goes for a HP 4630 printer. You plug it on Windows 7-8-10 and no problem, it's automatically installed by the system, no need to install any driver at all. But NOT on Windows 11. Support dropped by Windows 11 and HP has no updated driver for it. They want you to send it to the bin and to buy a new one even though this printer is still working fine.

Here is a "before" and "after" of how I use a SHADOW to effect font readability.
The key is the ORANGE / BROWN pixels of this BLACK FONT.

Just how "generic" is that mouse? Does it have a "roller ball" on the bottom? Or a laser light reflecting off the table?

Printer does not surprise me at all! I've witnessed that with Win10 and "old" printers.

The mouse really does surprise me though. But anything is possible.
I'd stop calling it a "generic" mouse though, I'd call it a "cheap generic".

Again, it's NOT MINE. But it looks like a standard USB mouse you buy for 10 bucks at the supermarket. Yes it has a laser pointer. Left and right buttons and a wheel between them. Normal. GENERIC. Somehow 'classic', nothing fancy.
Maybe it's cheap but it's something which works on ANY DEVICE but Windows 11. ANY DEVICE. So when you use Windows 11 you must use an expensive mouse ?
Oh I forgot to say it's also working NATIVELY on Linux Mint.

I lost interest in Linux as no matter how much time passes, it's always in this half-baked state where things are broken / buggy or non-functional. And if I still have to run of bunch of software through compatibility layer with its own bugs and performance issues, then what's the point?

I still remember the atrocity fglrx driver was. And open-source one had half the performance it was supposed to have... Then you buy NVIDIA and you just get problems in other areas. Few honest people will tell you both are actually crap.

I haven't tried these and I don't even where to put them. I don't know when I'll boot to it next time. Outside of few specific use cases, it's just not for me.

But yeah, there just aren't any decent options out there these days...
