Post subject: | Need Help with searching for a good Windows 7 Laptop |
Hello there, I am currently searching for a new Laptop, which i will use as my daily driver, however i really dont know where to start or what laptops from which brand i should consider buying. I can not build my own PC at the moment, which is why i am looking for a fairly powerful laptop that is Windows 7 compatible, however every time i would find one which suits my needs i would find out that the OEMs do not provide any Windows 7 drivers for that particular device. I am looking for something with similar specs to these: CPU: Any Quad Core Processor going up to at least 3.5 Ghz RAM: 16 GB GPU: any Nvidia GPU ranging from models GTX 980 to GTX 1080 Storage: 1 TB HDD (or Small SSD + Large HDD) 100% Windows Vista or 7 compatible A lot of people have been suggesting me the HP Elitebook 8770W, however I wasnt able to find one which suited my needs and at times when i did, the shipping costs were so high that it wasnt worth it or it wouldnt even ship into my area at all. And besides that i dont want to spend extra 200$ for a separate GPU. Please also only suggest me laptops which have all parts already built into them so that i dont need to buy anything separately, like in the case of the 8770W. Thank you and have a nice day CalmCreeper360 |

You could upgrade to the 8770W's "successor", the zBook. Vista will be a bit fucked because Haswell, but it should have everything needed. You could also try going for a Skylake and Pascal laptop, but do your research and make sure it allows you to disable Optimius before buying. |

I found this Dell Precision m6600 on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/284281396902?hash=item42307ddea6:g:e~cAAOSw57hgizpA IDK where you can find a good GPU. NOTE: The seller put Windoze 10 on it (what a bad decision!) but you can always replace it. |

Sandy Bridge doe, also, it's more expensive than a 8770W, so it isn't really an option for the guy. |

So I did a bit of eBay research, you'll need to spend a fair bet to get something powerful. https://www.ebay.com/itm/194024533164 This is pretty good and has G-Sync, so no Optimus fucking things up, https://www.ebay.com/itm/194097242577 This is a pretty good deal, perhaps a better deal than my 8770w. Maxwell, so you should be able to run XP too. Not G-Sync, but also not Optimus. |

Not really actually, most people sold 8770W's for 500+ Euros. I personally got a max. total Budget of 800€ so that should be fine. I Just dont feel like spending 600€ on a 8770W and 200€ on a GPU when i can find way more powerful devices online for the same price. |

Thank you for your effort, those are some pretty good ones and i might consider buying one of them, if i dont find a better model myself online. EDIT: Unfortunately both sellers do not ship to my country ![]() |

Just look up GTX 980m, 1070, and 1080 laptops, send me your results that fit the bill (Include multiple of each if possible), and I'll determine which is best. |

Models ive come up with that suit my needs: Alienware 15 Alienware 17 Asus G751JY Asus ROG G752VT Gigabyte P35X MSI GT72S Dominator Pro G Also btw does the 880M SLI have a better performance than the 980m? Saw some stats online and it seemed like that. |

Please DM me the links to the listings. Also the 880m SLI may have better performance, but it'll be a pain, and a much higher heat and wattage load than a single 980m, assuming the game properly supports SLI. |
