This comment from Retrozilla Some font characters are broken and it's slower than Firefox 3.6.28, but other than that, it's like Firefox 3.6.28 |

About the only thing that seems weird is that I'm getting logged out really fast. Im not sure if this is specific to just this browser, as I've only tried this one so far. |

It doesnt look as "aero-ish" as it is in a modern browser (I almost prefer it that way), and the color selector tool for the site theme doesn't work, but thats par for the course when you use IE8 for stuff. Purple is my favorite color, anyway. |

Used a VM to test with IE 8, and I have to agree with you, it looks better. I might try editing the .css files to remove the corners, with a few other modifications, and possibly color changes. |

I'll have to try this with an old browser at some point myself, to get that authentic 2000s forum experience. I wonder what the oldest IE version is that will support this. |

IE9 running in IE7 mode barely works Have no way to test true IE7 because of the TLS 1.1 requirement |

Don't know what Quirks mode is, but it looks to be a more broken IE7 |

TLS (or even SSL) is not required to access and use this site. For Trident, particularly older (but not ancient) versions, there are two modes. Standards, and Quirks. The names are self explanitory. Standards mode (attempts) to adhere to web standards "by the book". while Quirks mode emulates the things that were broken in older IE, for sites designed to work in older IE. Sysops of the time broke their code just right so that when IE broke it more, it looked just right. |

Opera 9.50 is working, albeit some of the icons look a little bit off (most notably the 'new forum' icons). This makes the forum accessible from a native Windows 95 machine (one of the 10.x builds being the last to support 95) insanely easy as on my XP x64 it's taking up only 30 megabytes of RAM to render the index page(!!) Honestly funny how Opera Presto is the one browser engine that probably stuck to the standards more than anyone and as a result manages to work reasonably well on today's web considering how dated it actually is. It's a shame the CPC-affiliated consortium are so overprotective of Presto these days since the source leaked for 12.02 too, since an extremely competent and lightweight browser could be created from its sources... The logout-quickly issue only happens when HTTPS is disabled btw and you click somewhere that uses HTTPS like the board banner for instance. |

By intentionally typing exactly: http://forum.eclipse.cx - using the main domain will always redirect to HTTPS version. Certain things like the board banner also always redirect to the HTTPS link, so don't click those either. |

I managed to verify that IE6 "works" with the forum, as long as you replace https with http, since IE6 doesn't like many modern SSL certificates. The site looks broken, but it's mostly usable. |

kisses you Welcome! I wonder if R3n is willing to implement the Legacy theme, may be useful for older systems/browsers? |

I'm posting this from IE6! Unfortunatley it seems as if CRMX beat me to it... As they said, it's pretty broken and only works with HTTP, but otherwise it's pretty fast and works. I'll post some screenshots from a modern browser soon. |

Now posting from IE7. The site looks correct now. Still only works with HTTP. Not gonna bother testing IE8 onward, since those will obviously work. |

Back on Ungoogled Chromium now. Here's a screenshot of IE6's broken UI:![]() And here's something suprising, the page actually loads on IE3 of all things, granted it's plain HTML and going to any link doesn't load anything, but the index page does indeed work! ![]() |

For IE versions, with regards to HTTPS, its not so much the version of IE but the ciphers of the OS. For example, IE8 on Win7 supports more ciphers than IE8 on XP, particularly ECC ones. Similarly, IE6 on XP suppports more than IE6 on 98. |

I think I will try to get HTTP fully working. You linked the phpBB 3.2.x version, while I have upgraded the forum to 3.3.x before launching it. However, the theme exists for 3.3.x, so it's a non-issue. I will implement it soon, but while you're waiting, you can see how the other three themes play with old browsers. I was wanting to get at least TLS 1.0 support, but I think all the way down to Windows 95 can access the site with working TLS 1.2, or at least 1.1 using a modded browser and/or KernelEx. |

So, the forum extensions are so dependent on prosilver that the legacy theme breaks them. So we'd lose Markdown, and likely First post on every page, Linked Accounts, Max-width switch, Member Avatars on Index, and more. |

Forum should fully work with HTTP now, but I think that doing this is a mistake. |
