I was replacing the power supply in my XPS 420 to upgrade to a 9800GX2, and found next to the floppy header what appeared to be a USB 2.0 header labeled "UDOC1." The only information I can seem to find about it is that it was an early format of NAND flash memory, mounted to a board using the internal USB 2.0 interface.
Data sheet, aug.2004
Data sheet, nov.2006

It appears to be primarily for embedded systems, why would a header like this be on a system like the XPS 420? Are there other uses for the standard?
