| Are you planning on making the Windows Vista/7/8 - compatible version of the Firefox 128 - based Tor Browser? How much work would that require? And is it even possible without affecting the fingerprint? |

Not to be too much of a securitytard but using Tor on outdated OS's seems pretty stupid to me, I avoid using stuff like that on windows at all and just use it on Linux. |

In this case, it's not worse than using a Firefox fork on an outdated OS. Tor Browser is not a security software for the OS but just offers a protected internet browsing experience, hence it's enforcing the global security of the OS. But yes, I guess most people on this forum will switch to Linux sooner or later. |

| I mostly just focus on my own thing. However anyone could take my commits and build Tor Browser with them. |

I do the same and use Linux for that - but not all that often do I even use Tor unless I'm trying to watch something from another region. I never ever look at porn; never! I had to avoid all addictive behavior(s) beginning in 2017. |

You could always just run the Tor daemon and use that with normal r3dfox. As for fingerprinting, it seems easier and more effective to ensure a random fingerprint (eg: via canvas poisoning), than trying to ensure your fingerprint matches everyone else's. |

Thank you for the advice! Please if I may ... when you say "canvas poisoning" do you mean to use Pale Moon Or Lun3r (I use Lun3r but its getting a little outdated now - I hope it will be updated one day) and use the pref? Is there an extension that will 'poison' the canvas for each session? From what I understand (sorry if I come across as ignorant) blocking canvas won't help much. Thank you in advance Sal |

Or just use this extension for Firefox or any of its forks including R3dfox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/canvasblocker/ Github: https://github.com/kkapsner/CanvasBlocker Tip: to allow smilies to work on this forum with CanvasBlocker add eclipse.cx to the Window API list by clicking on "+" and then remove its checkmark. It should be the same with any other phpBB forum. |
