Eclipse Community

Due to server slowness, downtime, and other issues, Eclipse will be moving to a more stable and efficient platform that should result in much better stability. There is no timeline for this yet, just want you to know what's happening with all the downtime and I have a plan to fix it.

Is my laptop capable of running Windows Vista?

I've tried a basic installation from a USB, which didn't work, as it would always hang on the 'Starting Windows' screen.

System specifications:
AMD Ryzen 7 3750H with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650
8.00 GB DDR4 RAM

Any help would be appreciated!

Sounds like funny UEFI bug, but you might be able to run Windows 7.

Following the installation guide https://board.eclipse.cx/viewtopic.php?t=79 on here, I unfortunately receive the same results.

This is related to needing CSM or UEFI7 or something. I'm not sure how to fix myself. If you have a Discord, joining the official server (discord.gg/ecx), pinging helper, and asking could help.

After attempting a few more times and doing a bit more research, it seems ASUS motherboards are a bit weird with Windows 7 and below. So it doesn't look like it'll work for me. I'll be sticking with Windows 10 LTSC for the time being. Thanks for replying anyway!
