If for some reason you're still using a version of Firefox, or one of its forks like R3dfox, LibreWolf, etc, older than version ESR 115.13 or version 128 then you will have to update because of a root certificate expiration on 14 March 2025 which may cause significant issues with add-ons, content signing and DRM-protected media playback.

Hi, Duke..

Do you think this will effect Mypal or Lun3r

Thanks in advance.

I'm not using these browsers but I guess their latest versions should not be affected by the issue.
Maybe we need a confirmation from the Mypal developer since this browser is based on a quite old version of Firefox.

Updating the certificate chain/cipher suites would mitigate the issues, though older versions of add-ons might be signed with the older root certificate...

Well ... I still consider myself a novice computer user and am still learning. How does one go about updating the certificate chain or cipher suites? Can I do that or do I have to rely on the developer(s) for that? Thank you for any assistance. I'm mostly asking about Mypal68 and Lun3r browsers on XP. Otherwise, might be time to jump to linux in 2025. I don't think Feodor likes me much because he never responded to my questions and he rarely post here anymore. Of course K4sum1 maintains Lun3r ... we'll see, I guess.

Do you think even when the certificates expire that would effect general browsing?

General browsing, no. But some of your extensions may stop working, as well as some streaming sites which are using DRM like Netflix.

Thank you for the clarification, Duke.

Reminder: there are only a few days left before possible problems if you're still using an old version of Firefox or its forks. In this case update as soon as possible ;)
