Is post editing disabled and is that intentional? There is no button for it

EDIT: I can edit this post but none of the older ones

Oh I think this is a result of some moderation changes I made. I didn't expect normal users to encounter it. I'm going to have to try to remember what I changed.

Limit for editing a post should be 24 hours max anyway.
For security reasons, to avoid butchering of threads by some angry user, and to avoid spam.

Except when:
  • You maintain a list of some programs like last versions of software that work on some OS or a tutorial that changes as version of software change
  • You are a creator of some software and want to keep the main post updated with info about the latest version
  • You want to replace a dead link
  • You want to to add info that a superior solution to the one you suggested has been created
To avoid thread butchering a cooldown could be implemented to disallow editing too many posts at once, but idk if that's something that phpbb supports

Problem is in phpBB it's a global setting, it can't be a per user setting AFAIK.
And to add a new post always attract more attention than editing an old one ;)
