This is about how to display recent emojis on Mozilla based browsers like Firefox, LibreWolf, R3dfox, Palemoon, etc.
For doing that we will use the most recent Segoe UI Emoji font. This font is already installed system wide on Windows 8 and above but not on Windows 7 because Windows 7 has no support for color emojis system wide. However, the trick will work with Mozilla browsers on Windows 7. We will not install nor update the font system wide anyway.
To get the latest version of Segoe UI Emoji, filename SEGUIEMJ.TTF, first we need to dowload latest Windows 11 ISO from https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11
Then with 7-zip you extract the font file from "sources\install.wim\1\Windows\Fonts\seguiemj.ttf".
It should be version 1.51 as of today, from Windows 11 23H2. This font is compatible with latest official Unicode version 15.1, as of today, therefore with emojis v15.1.
First, make sure to completly close and exit your browser. Then we will copy the seguiemj.ttf font file to the Fonts folder of your browser. For instance for Firefox "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\fonts" for the x86 version of Windows or "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\fonts" for Windows x64. The Fonts folder is in the same folder as your browser .EXE. The TwemojiMozilla.ttf font should already be there and you must keep it for displaying country flags.
That's all!
Now you can run your browser and use this test page for checking the emojis:
