Words can not describe my amazement and confusion.
(please ignore that black spot on the picture. I had to censor some personal information.)

Indeed.
The got lots of old hardware laying around there right now cuz they are doing some cleanups.
Some examples are that old magnetic Tape, lots of 2000's 14 inch 4:3 monitors, tons of VGA cables and some PCMCIA WLAN Cards.

Except that's definitely not the case. It's as far as classic storage gets.

I spoke with the IT-People over there who are maintaining the servers and the computers and from their opinion all that
Stuff is just useless garbage.

He's a bit dumb, what he meant is you could try asking for it.

Nope, its technically still property of the city and thus i wont be able to lets say "legally" take it but i dont think that anyone would care if i took something with me since its gonna be thrown away anyway.

I mean, its not like the FBI is gonna show up on my door the next day asking for that one DVI cable i took with me yesterday :P .

That's unfortunate, you could've at least tried persuading it but guess the choice is entirely on your hands after all. Well, it's probably on a minuscule scale compared to bulks that had existed there.
