Due to server slowness, downtime, and other issues, guests can no longer search the forum or view user accounts. At some point in the future Eclipse will be moving to a more stable and efficient platform that should result in much better stability and the lifting of these restrictions. There is no timeline for this yet, just want you to know what's happening with all the downtime and I have a plan to fix it.

Manually patching uxtheme.dll

Unread post by XP Luna »

Hey!

I tried to find a tutorial for patching uxtheme.dll on Windows 10 because I don´t really trust the Patchers that are out there. So does anybody know how to do it? Thanks

Easiest method would be to replace the DLLs with prepatched ones correspondent to your OS version using a live Linux CD/DVD (or a Windows NT 6.0+ install image though the former is far easier). http://debian.org/ is my favourite distro, choose the "live" stable AMD64 image.

Bear in mind you'd need to replace any "SFC" backups the system has, as well as make sure you backup the original file, unless you want to deal with a broken desktop UI.
