I am a man that has been cursed with small hands and short fingers,
i have been refered to as penis fingers by my peers, its also worth mentioning that despite not being, i appear east asian, i refuse to elaborate.
trauma dump over
Phone companies must think that natural selection has killed off everyone with the genetic inferiority of small hands by 2020, every phone on the market now requires me to use 2 hands to operate. is this some sort of fucking joke.
I cannot wrap my head around why every phone nowadays has to be over 6 inches, it costs more money because more materials, it fits in less places (like pockets and incredibly small bags.) AND they take more power due to bigger screens.
So what are the smallest modern phones avaliable in June 2024?
Iphone minis (discontinued for no fucking reason)
Folding phones (fragile and new, gimmicky tech)
Old androids (The best option, but no apps support them anymore)
I have created a theory
Phone companies originally created small phones then made them bigger so people with big hands are happy, and left the people with small hands with the old phones.
Apple of all companies understood our cries for help, but the phone companies bullied them into submission for their racist views.
Then the phone companies created folding phones to make the small handed population be stuck with fragile pieces of shit that need to have their screen replaced every four months to get rid of the crease.
if you dont agree with me then you hate small handed people and are contributing to this tech genocide.

Left-handers and small-handers unite! We have suffered for far too long!
Wasn't there some debate because of a lack of small phones, which would be better suited for women's hands? The annoyance of phones being too large nowadays certainly was out there.
Are button phones an option? Every child could use those one handed I guess, especially the later ones of around 2005-2010, also newer variants of "feature phones". Beautifully small in size and reliable as heck.

oh now i have to be the leader of this movement
as a small handed and a left handed person this problem is not just a womens problem, it has been addressed before!
when the Xbox was launched in japan, people hated the huge controller, so microsoft released a smaller version which ended up becoming the default worldwide!
granted, this is not a phone, but what happened to making things more accessible for everyone!
feature phones arent the issue here, theyve always been small and in all honesty, growing up with smartphones everywhere made me realise that in the modern world, you kinda need a smartphone
i
dread the future, where the 4g network will shut down, so i wont even be able to use the s5 mini

I can't say I have small hands, but I like being able to grip my phone, occasionally one hand, and not get tired of holding it because I'm weak and need a small, light phone.
I use the Xperia XZ1 Compact, and not entirely sure if there's any good upgrade. There's the more modern Xperia 5 series, but those are a little bigger on the sides, and 21:9.
Maybe if we get enough people, this could happen.
I very highly doubt it's an actual possibility.

I have large hands and more so than that, long fingers, and I've always had problems, specially with typing, even in 7" tablets.

this is why it should be a choice, for less fortunate people with smaller hands, while you giants can enjoy your pocket sized tablets

you're implying people with small hands are a race. It's like saying i'm discriminating blind people because i'm watching my computer screen or that discriminating deaf people because i'm wearing headphones. C'mon man, be more precise with your wording.
Phone companies must think that natural selection has killed off everyone with the genetic inferiority of small hands by 2020, every phone on the market now requires me to use 2 hands to operate. is this some sort of fucking joke.
>>Iphone minis (discontinued for no fucking reason)
When Apple made the iPhone Mini. Nobody purchased it
When Asus made small phones. Nobody purchased it.
and so on and so forth.
If you can convince the mainstream media and people in general why they should buy small phones. Then the small phones supremacy will slowly gain attraction.
All of this small phone supremacy extinction is because nobody wants small phones
it costs more money because more materials, it fits in less places (like pockets and incredibly small bags.) AND they take more power due to bigger screens.
and on a small phone you've got less battery, limited cpu, etc because of it's size. In my opinion i think small phones takes about the same amount of material as bigger ones

Could also be that the market is overall down and has been for a while. The people most likely to care probably want to mod their phone as well. Apple is out of the question and Asus removed bootloader unlocking not too long ago. Could also be that people wouldn't like a gigantic notch on small phone. Also a variety of other reasons.
I like small phones, however I also have small money. I can't buy the latest flagship until like 3-5 years down the line. I also know I can get away with Snapdragon 630 class specs if need be. To have a proper chance, they need to make a mid range small phone every other year or so.
For your last part, it's not an issue. Battery is offset by smaller screen and generally thicker for more capacity anyways. Xperia 1 V and 5 V have the same 5000mAh battery capacity even though the 5 V is a good bit smaller, and the 5 V gets considerably more battery life for it. It's actually one of the best phones for battery life outside of glorified power banks. For CPU, 1 V and 5 V work here too. Same Snapdragon 8G2, same performance. The XZ1C I daily is considerably smaller and has a full, fat, still quite fast Snapdragon 835. Same CPU and speed as they had in the gigantic XZ Premium of the time. It's not an issue then or now. Also an overall smaller but otherwise same product must take less material. It's basic physics.

To be honest, 4.0-4.7 inch screen size is the perfect range. Nothing higher than that, or else just get a tablet.

So what? I myself use a 6.7 inch phone, yet I would absolutely be fine with anything smaller.

Phones should literally be handheld compact devices, which means they should be easy to grab and use at the same time. Unfortunately, the software isn't doing the same. Bigger screens should mean more content to be displayed in, but that's not the case. Android 12 for example enlarges the UI so much that it's just obnoxious imo. Speaking of which, the phone industry thinks 'bigger is better' when actually its not. However people think the same 'bigger is better' concept.

Not only is mine 6.8 , but the thing is a tank . 3cm thick and about .7 kg. It is sweet. Actually I would love something even bigger. Like over 7 inches of display .

Yeah I don't remember having these issues (remember I have
big hands) with "feature" phones.

It seems there are only few Chinese brands that offer(ed) smaller models; Unihertz, Ulefone and Cubot.
Buying from those might be a bit of a lottery, IDK.
